Name: Rarity (Unknown last name)
Age: Most likely 17 to 18ish
AU/PG/CANON/OC: Equestria Girls Friendship Games - Canon
Key Points:
- Rarity entered the school in 9th grade and made friends with the girls who would shape her life, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash within the few few weeks of her freshman year. Somewhere during this time, they took a picture for the student yearbook. During this time, Sunset Shimmer entered their school and set about wrecking friendships.
- Rarity and Pinkie became at odds when Sunset broke up their friendship via emails and texts sent in their name. They got back together when Princess Twilight Sparkle arrived in their world and began mending their friendships. Rarity then helped promote Twilight's cause with headbands and tails.
- Rarity was revealed as the Element of Generosity and she helped defeat Sunset Shimmer in the final showdown. It's assumed she helped Sunset repair the school as well as making friends with her for a duration of six moons (unknown if it's months or weeks or phases of the moon).
- Rarity provided the outfits for the Rainbooms as well as the Dance, but she was often told by Applejack that it was useless for the situations they were in. However, she like Applejack and the rest got aggravated at Rainbow Dash controlling the band. She and the band contacted Twilight Sparkle and waited for her to arrive in their world. They also tried to defeat the Dazzlings with magic, but failed.
- Rarity and the Rainbooms defeat the Dazzlings in a magical girl musical showdown, and send them packing. A few weeks later, the Emergency Text has been put into place with the girls during the Anon-A-Miss incident when the girls were doubting Sunset for being a good person. This allowed the girls to get involved in something whenever something important happened.
- Rarity is a incredible seamstress, able to create outfits from classic musician designs to whole wardrobes. She has been behind a sewing machine since she was little, and nothing can deter her. She is also a accessory crafter and cobbler, having custom built all of their boots and shoes. She is basically the queen of clothing crafting with an impeccable style and design.
- She is also prissy and hates dirt and garbage. Anything filthy she detests, and seeks to be fashionable in any situation. This also lends into her ability to find beauty in almost anything as she realizes that sometimes the most gorgeous things are the small things.
- She also ran against Sunset in the early days for the Spring Fling, and was viciously put in her place by the then-mean Sunset. Rarity held a bit of a grudge about that, but it has cooled considerably.
History:
Rarity's history spans 3 movies and several shorts with two comics as well, bringing the total up to about 12. In the first movie, Rarity spends the first half of it at odds with Pinkie Pie, until the misunderstanding is cleared up thanks to Twilight's efforts. She also tried disguising Twilight with new clothing as well, but soon realized it wasn't required. During this time, she also wanted to get the school wearing Canterlot Wondercolt headbands and tails as a sign of unity during their lunchtime pep rally.
She helped clean up the mess after Snips and Snails completely demolished the gym decorations, and got everyone into their dance dresses for the Fall Formal. It was here that she was also present during the final battle against Sunset, as Sunset had transformed into a demon and tried to kill Twilight and her friends. Gaining the first tier of her magic, she transformed with pony ears and a tail and used the Element of Generosity to help combat Sunset and return her to normal.
Her short for Rainbow Rocks focuses on Rarity trying to maneuver a grand piano into the school, and does so with the help of Rover and his friends but is soon given a Keytar. She discovers her Pony Up ability when she plays music.
The movie jumps six moons, either months or moons when the team is preparing for the then-Music Festival which soon turns into a incident involving Sirens. The Dazzlings, sirens from Equestria who were exiled to the other world, were planning on using the magic in CHS in order to fuel their transformations into their own pony up forms and make the whole world adore them. Rarity and the others were unaffected by their abilities and fought back, but were first delayed by in-fighting among the band members and it reached a peak during the final round of the battle. It was here that they reached a new state of power with their Pony Up forms, and achieved Rainbow Mode, which was another step towards full on magical girl.
Sometime in September 2015, the Friendship Games began as they prepared for it. While the girls demonstrated various traits which activated their Pony Up, so did Rarity as she ran from girl to girl, demonstrating her love of fashion and tireless dedication to making people look great -- until the magic was sucked right out of her. The entirety of the games had Rarity participating, in both Academic rounds and Physical Rounds as the speed skater. She, along with Pinkie Pie, won the Speed Skate portion of the round. It was at the final event however that she gave her power to Sunset to fuel Sunset's transformation into her full powered form in order to defeat Twilight who had unleashed all the trapped magic.
With the trapped magic purified and purged from Twilight, the team managed to settle down into normalicy with their new friend. Although, with some changes as the human Twilight and Spike are now students at CHS, and pony Twilight just came through the portal claiming time loop shenanigans.
To Be Continued in Legends of the Everfree
Personality:
Rarity is very driven, set on her goals, objectives and motives. Like all of the characters as CHS, she is younger than her pony counterpart, but manages to adhere to her standards as well as creating a sense of fabulousness and wealth among her students. She is no means bragging but rather spreading her good fortune around.
Rarity can be often vain and desires to refrain from physical activity, but she is no means out of shape. She enjoys various exercises and gives the impression she is also combat trained in martial arts given the source base of her pony original. But like her pony original, she would rather stay on the back lines of a battle unless push comes to shove. Rarity is, however, not a coward. She would stand up for her friends, and protect them, even sacrificing her own dignity to shield someone. Her big open heart is what binds her with her friends, and her generous spirit is what keeps her going.
She loves making people feel good and look good. She appreciates the finer things in life, but also manages to keep things under control whenever crazy things happen. While Rarity can be a drama queen, she is no means hurtful in what she says, or at least tires not to be. She has a temper like all of her friends at CHS, and easily sparked. But she is the first to forgive, even if Rainbow is the first to defend. She is always the one with the third chime in, if not after Applejack.
Rarity might get out of control once in a while, her love of fashion and style getting out of hand once in a while. However, everything comes to a head when she can literally exhaust herself running back and forth. She loathes production lines, and stunted creativity, and works towards preventing such a travesty as giving up on creativity from happening. She is very passionate about what she does, and her passion combines itself with incredible creativity, and awareness of her friends tastes.
Gem Considerations: Blue Diamond. As the King of Gems, Rarity's gemstone represents wealth, courage, fortitude, lightning, and due to her generous spirit, spreads this around in the form of clothing and fashion. She is all but suited for the nature of her cutie mark, and will give the world a new look on life. Rarity's goal is to protect her friends with her indomitable spirit, as well as strength on the battlefield and off it. She wants to keep others safe and looking good while doing so.
Power considerations:
List Three Powers You Would Like Your Character To Have:
At first Rarity would be surprised, but unsurprised at the sample of powers she was given. It suits her needs, as well as others to be the support staff she is. Her offensive power was demonstrated in Rainbow Rocks. The Change power however is new, and would give Rarity more cause to make more wilder costumes, having been inspired by media such as Daft Punk, Beetles, comics, cartoons and Japanese media through Fluttershy and Pinkie.
